Post MDT Tasks - Default Logon

Windows will by default show the last logged on user, and after a MDT (Specops Deploy) OS installation that last logged on user will be %ComputerName%\Administrator
Which may confuse your end users, especially if you are running Windows XP, where the LogonDomain will be the %ComputerName% so just entering the username will not work.
You can set this Group Policy settings to set the Default Logon for Windows Vista and Windows 7.

And to get it to work for Windows XP, you will have to use either a startup script, or as i prefer Group Policy Preferences like this;

Settings:
Hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key path SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Value name defaultdomainname
Value type REG_SZ
Value data DOMAINNAME

Hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key path SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Value name altdefaultdomainname
Value type REG_SZ
Value data DOMAINNAME

Plus, this setting, or the previous logged on username + domain will still be visible;

If you read the blog last week, you may remember that setting options like this may break the OS Deploy installation. So it's a great opportunity to use that WMI Filtering on the GPO like this;

Filter: Select * From CIM_Directory Where Name = 'C:\\Windows\\Temp\\DeploymentLogs'
